Vent Selection Guide

Choosing the right vent depends on where it’s mounted, how much airflow you need, and how the vehicle is used. Use the guide below to help select the most suitable option.

🔹 If you need general airflow with a clean finish

Best option:
Louvre Vents (Square or Rectangular)

Louvre vents are ideal for passive airflow through canopy or trailer side panels. They allow air movement while helping deflect water ingress. Best suited where constant airflow is required without moving parts.

Ideal for:

  • Canopy side panels

  • Trailer walls

  • Equipment compartments

🔹 If you need heat extraction without electrical power

Best option:
Rotary Roof Vent

Rotary vents actively draw hot air out as the vehicle moves, making them ideal for reducing heat build-up in enclosed spaces. No wiring or power required.

Ideal for:

  • Canopies

  • Enclosed trailers

  • Horse floats

  • Storage bodies

🔹 If you want adjustable roof ventilation

Best option:
Pop-Up Roof Vent (Low or High Profile)

Pop-up roof vents allow airflow when open and seal closed when not in use. Low-profile vents suit vehicles where height clearance matters, while high-profile vents provide increased airflow.

Choose low profile if:

  • You want minimal roof height

  • Clearance is critical

Choose high profile if:

  • Heat build-up is an issue

  • Maximum airflow is needed

🔹 If you need controlled airflow direction

Best option:
Directional Vent

Directional vents guide airflow in a specific direction, helping reduce dust or water entry in exposed environments. Useful where airflow needs to be managed rather than unrestricted.

Ideal for:

  • Dusty conditions

  • Trailers and service bodies

  • Equipment enclosures

🔹 If you want a discreet, low-profile installation

Best option:
Flush-Mount Vent

Flush-mount vents sit close to the surface for a clean, unobtrusive finish while still allowing airflow. Ideal where aesthetics or clearance are important.

Ideal for:

  • Service bodies

  • Enclosed trailers

  • Vehicle compartments

🔹 If you need basic ventilation in a compact space

Best option:
Round Vent

Round vents offer simple airflow in confined areas and are easy to install. Best for smaller compartments or where space is limited.

Ideal for:

  • Storage boxes

  • Small compartments

  • Trailer panels

🔹 For improved weather protection

Recommended add-on:
Vent Cover / Weather Hood & Installation Gasket

Vent covers help reduce water ingress in exposed installations, while sealing gaskets ensure a weather-tight fit during installation.

Still Not Sure?

If you’re unsure which vent suits your setup, consider:

  • Where the vent will be installed (roof or side panel)

  • Vehicle use (trade, touring, storage)

  • Airflow needs (light ventilation vs heat extraction)
